Location: Spearfish Regional Facility
Status: Full-time, Monday through Friday Day shift

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Full-Time Transit Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong telephone etiquette, and a passion for customer service. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation schedules, answering customer inquiries, and assisting with daily operations using technology and transit management systems. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and a solid understanding of the communities in western South Dakota to provide the best service. On-the-job training. Prior dispatching or customer service experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and dispatch transit vehicles in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and team members
  • Provide superior customer service, answering calls and resolving inquiries
  • Utilize technology to track and manage transportation schedules
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of dispatch activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the local communities in western South Dakota

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in telephone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Ability to use technology and transit software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of the western South Dakota area and its communities

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR - SPEARFISH

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Experience:  High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certification.   
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate the knowledge, ability, and skills required to understand, influence, and serve people.  Knowledge of telephone etiquette and general office procedures and equipment, including the computer and various computer software packages. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality at all times. 

Other qualification/certificate/license:  Good written and verbal communication skills:  Must be able to work effectively with a diverse population inside and outside the transit authority. 

  • PC Competencies: Above-average knowledge of computer operations and office procedures as necessary.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and the drive to assist and provide information to all customers

 


PART-TIME DRIVER – HILL CITY 

Location: Hill City, South Dakota
Status: Part-Time, Wednesday-Friday 10 am-430 pm in-town
Wage: $16.25 per hour

Be a vital part of your community by being a public transit driver for residents of Hill City.  We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can safely operate an ADA-compliant minivan independently on an assigned route within an established schedule. Must be able to deal with the public pleasantly and courteously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Operates ADA-compliant minivan to provide public transportation for fixed routes while complying with all traffic laws and other required regulations.
-Appropriately conduct themselves while working in a diverse work environment.
-Performs a pre-trip inspection of the van prior to beginning the shift.
-Maintains working knowledge of streets, current routes, and fare structure.
-Collects and records fares.
-Performs fueling according to procedures.
-Provide friendly, helpful customer service.
Qualifications:
-Must be 25 years or older,
-Must be dependable,
-Must possess a valid driver’s license,
-Possess a clean driving record,
-Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests and random testing,
